Joanna Lumley’s Spice Trail Adventure

Joanna Lumley embarks on her most epic voyage yet as she travels halfway across the globe retracing an ancient spice trail which shaped our world.

Starting in the remote Banda islands of Indonesia, once the only place on earth where nutmeg grew, she’ll continue to Southern India in search of one of the most common ingredients in our kitchen cupboards – pepper, before travelling on to the ‘vanilla coast’ of Madagascar.

She’ll go on to experience the culture and colour of Zanzibar and discover the human cost of the spice trade, before ending her journey in the ancient Jordanian oasis of Petra.
